All athletes are offered a variety of events each competition day. Athletes are required to be at the track before 8:30am (5:45pm for a Twilight) and be ready to commence warm ups. Competition will begin on time.
All athletes are required to compete in correct Club uniform each week, including their Registration Patch, or they maybe disqualified from events.
There are several other competitions held during the year: Relays, Region/ State Track and Field, Multi-Event, Pentathlon Day, Cross Country (during winter) and Open Days held at other Centres.
PARENTS
Parents of all registered Little Athletes are required to assist in the running of Centre Activities. For the Centre to run successfully, we require at least 60 Officials every week. This will see a full compliment of events offered to the athletes.
The Centre, with help from all Clubs, will compile a 3-weekly roster system, which will see all families rostered on for Duty every 3 weeks.
For competition to start on time each week, parents are required to: 1. Be available on their Duty Day, or find a suitable replacement 2. Arrive at Track at 8.15am (5.30pm on Twilights), for set-up 3. Report to the Officials sign-in table at 8.30am to be allocated a position 4. Make sure all required equipment is at specified events 5. At the end of Competition, help pack away all equipment correctly
IMPORTANT • Warm-ups will begin at 8.30am sharp (5.45pm on Twilights) • Parent participation is essential to maximise the number of events available to athletes and allow the the program to continue smoothly.
There are many other ways parents can help: joining a Committee at Club or Centre level, talking to Club or Centre representatives about new ideas (always welcome), joining us at a working bee etc.
Remember this is a volunteer organisation. Without the help and input of Parents, the athletes (your children) are the ones that may suffer.
